“For Gaza” Demonstration and Referendum, a Weekend for Beautiful Souls

The appointment
The June 7th square works as a driving force and hook for the referendum the following day, while artists, intellectuals, and sections of civil society now use the Middle East as an amphetamine of social protest to be spread everywhere.
On the same topic:
On television they are called “tow programs” . Formats placed strategically in the schedule, one after the other, based on the assumption that viewers tend not to change channels if there is consistency of genre or target (“L'eredità” drags us towards the big evening of RaiUno, “Otto e mezzo” ferries viewers to Floris and Formigli, etc.).
So it is with the great demonstration “for Gaza” on June 7, the driving force and hook of the referendum the following day . “Stop the genocide and tomorrow VOTE YES” is in fact a perfect package. Let’s liberate Palestine, let’s decolonize work: it’s difficult to feel more Righteous in just one weekend. “Don’t you see how everything is linked, interconnected, everything is part of one great battle for democracy and resistance” Landini and Schlein seem to tell you while you secretly peek at the weather forecast (stable weather on Saturday, sun, 32°-35°) and maybe you give it some thought. Luciano Canfora, the prophet of philology, also explained it to us: first Meloni who is “a neo-Nazi at heart”. Then “the State of Israel” which is “the heir of the Third Reich and produces a policy of genocide”. Just connect the dots (Canfora is the greatest living testimonial of “studying Latin and Greek is useless but sharpens critical thinking”).
As in the television “lead-in audience” (as the good ones say) the heart full of indignation for Gaza should thus pour itself on layoffs, Jobs Act, fixed-term contracts, Italian citizenship for foreigners with terms to be halved. If we can't stop Netanyahu at least stop Meloni . We are here united in hatred for the colonizing Israel and its Italian friends (the government, but also a little Renzi and Calenda, who in fact are going to the Teatro Parenti in Milan, two peoples, two states, two demonstrations). We are between two symbolic places of the left-left: the square of the union concert that merges with that of multi-ethnic and bohemian Rome (Piazza Vittorio, now renamed “Piazza Hamas”, the scene of sit-ins and “aperifadas” every Saturday). In short, how can you not see that if the next day you vote NO or go to the beach, deep down you are a little “accomplice to genocide” too? Besides, the accusation flies like hot cakes: just go to a Carrefour, imagine if you refuse to participate in a democratic bath like this, preferring the sea instead .
Our best youth – artists, intellectuals, parts of civil society – now uses Gaza as a euphoric drug. An amphetamine of social protest to be spread everywhere. I don't know how many Israeli flags we will see in San Giovanni, those in the "hostages" and "two peoples two states" quota. Nor have I understood whether they can be brought or not (advice: better not) . The climate is what it is. I was thinking about it yesterday, when we were celebrating the anniversary of her birth: if today Michela Murgia wrote on WhatsApp "It's not complicated at all, I think like Hamas", she would win the Strega directly, without even going through the book.
